Position Description:
The Director of Vocational Services will lead and manage a growing team of Vocational Specialists in facilitating job placement and career advancement for individuals, and develop within critical areas, such as school-based transition services.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the planning and implementation of supported employment programs including career planning, job finding, and OVR services.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations governing vocational rehabilitation programs, including familiarity with OVR and supported employment under IDA and AAW waivers.
  • Maintain and expand community networks to create meaningful employment opportunities for individuals served.
  • Provide on-the-job coaching and support to team and individuals in employment settings, ensuring they meet job requirements and maintain independence.
  • Collaborate with case management teams to develop individualized career plans and support fading plans.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records, including updating OVR reports and managing billing processes.
  • Develop professional relationships with individuals served, respecting confidentiality and promoting their inclusion in the community.
  • Stay updated with changes in workforce training and development, maintaining relevant certifications and attending necessary trainings.
  • Represent ACCS at conferences, events, and job fairs to enhance networking opportunities and promote vocational services.

Specific Requirements and Preferences:
Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in a human service related field required (Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Social Services).
  • Experience in Supported Employment, Career Planning/Job Finding, and OVR highly preferred.
  • ACRE and CESP certifications required, or attainable within 6 months of employment.
  • Strong understanding of vocational rehabilitation policies and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to adapt to varying workplace environments and schedules, including evenings and weekends.
