PAR represents the majority of intellectual disabilities (also known as mental retardation) and autism services and supports in Pennsylvania. PAR is present and actively engaged in statewide policy forums and coalitions and represented on the federal level by our national association, ANCOR.
Part of the reason PAR is so effective in its policy work is its members' ongoing grassroots activities that keep legislators and decision-makers aware of the importance of the essential services and supports PAR members provide. As a PAR member, you can use this section of the PAR website to access the tools you need to help continue this important work.
The PAR website gives our members access to all of the laws, regulations and MR bulletins that affect how they provide mental retardation services and supports.
Want to build a local coalition and join together with other providers to visit your legislators? See what other PAR members are in your districts using the PAR Advocacy Toolkit.
How did your meeting with your legislators go? Were there positive outcomes? Are there next steps that you think PAR should take? Tell us using the Meeting Report Form.
The PAR Action Center is open to everyone who is interested in preserving and improving mental retardation services and supports.
