The
Pennsylvania Waiting List Campaign
was created in 1999 by Vision for EQuality, Inc. in response to the public outcry of people with mental retardation and their families who were languishing on Waiting Lists.

According to the Waiting List Campaign, as of December 1, 2006, there are 22,759 people waiting for services in Pennsylvania. 3,804 are in "emergency" situations.

The Waiting List Campaign estimates the total increases by 150-200 people each month.

PAR supports the goals of the Waiting List Campaign and advocates for additional funding for services to individuals waiting for MR services and supports every year.
